problem to get signal with lnb invacom fibre

i got lnb fiber link c120 to prime focus
also FibreIRS MKII Quad need to use 12-20 volt db to get lnb power ?
today testing lnb fiber with expternal 12 volt with out extervolt to quad mk 2
any know how it work ?
 
Well the fibre LNB needs the LNB DC power inserter connected to the "F" connector at the back of the LNB. This powers the LNB, then you hook the fibre optic cable to the "Fibre output" at the LNB and at the other end of the fibre optic cable you connect the GI fibre MDU receiver with it's power supply, to run the signals to your satellite receiver or its multi switch.

The "F" connector at the LNB can be used for a satellite signal meter to align the LNB/dish.

Here is a link to a block diagram for that type of setup; You may not need the splitter stuff in between.

If it's a global invacom system, then you need a 12v power supply to the LNB, then you need a quad converter connected to the fibre output of the LNB, The IRS quad converter also needs separate power, unlike the the standard quad converter, which is powered by the satellite receiver.

It is quite disappointing, as far as I understood from your very interesting data (I have been curious about this for long time).
The fibre can be very useful for long cable runs and this might very good to find a better vantage position for a dish.
But if in the end reception gets so deteriorated, I would say using such a device is not worth the game (yet).

And someone else at a different location and different dish and receiver can get some totally different results.

Fibre's good if you have to run the signals over 100 metres or more, if you don't need that long a run then RG-11 or LDF-75 would work.
 
Fibre is a great large system tool, as discussed when it first hit the scene on this forum, but not for fringe reception and was tested at the time for this very purpose. The problem with it when using large dishes on satellites with a wide difference of reception strengths, is that it requires substantial attenuation for the higher power signals to reduce noise level, this will often wipe out the low power signals, often the very ones the viewer wants to receive.
 
Its a bit like using a line amplifier - the noise gets more as well as the signal. So if there is no problem with cabling (length, environmental etc.) the fibre option does not really make a difference.
 
Imagine line levelling for every tp you need. o_O

the channel das erste hd 11494h no signal
normal lnb got 8/cn
where it problem no lock signal ?

The feedhorn that is recommend by or made by whoever manufactured the dish is the right feedhorn for the dish.
 
Is it showing signal strength on your receiver? What sized dish are you using? I've found that with an 80cm dish I needed to attenuate the fibre signal into the quad unit to bring signal quality up to a reasonable level.

we get zdf hd 9 cn at morning
ard hd 8.6 c.n
yesterday we no get signal
the cable fiber use gi 3.0
 
I'm asking about signal strength, not carrier to noise.

A feedhorn is a physical band pass filter with a baffle that breaks up and disperses larger waves to stop them from interfering with the wanted signal.

The feedhorn that was supplied by the manufacturer is a safe choice because it should match the dish.

You have been receiving weak KU band signals very well so I doubt the feedhorn you are using is a problem. :)
 
yesterday i got personal build for me 12.5mm ring to get more signal of ku band
as soon resulte
