Problem with BBC Channels

Hi, Last week I have decided to purchase a satellite system with a set top box Vu-Solo so I am still new. Can someone help me since I have a problem with BBC Channels on Astra EutelSat 28.2 E. These channels are not connecting. Any help out there please?

Regarding Sky I have no problem with it and the channels are working fine so i wonder what the problem might be.

Can you please tell us what size dish you have?
Different transponders can use different beams, so might require different sized dishes, for different locations, and in some regions might no longer be available.
 
Please can you guide me on how to look up for the exact dish size. All I know is that it is 1 meter in diameter.
 
You are out of luck with the BBC channels in Malta on a 1m dish. The Astra 2E spotbeam doesnt reach that far

You probably need 3m+ there.

So would it be possible for me to view BBC on another channel?

Not on 28E no.

There is a BBC multiplex on 27.5W which some people have had success watching (its encrypted) and that one is your best bet via satelllite.

Sorry,no chance with 27.5W in Malta with a 1m dish.I can just get it where I am with a 1.2m(67% quality)Reckon you will need at least 2m.
 
In that case you are stuck. Something like filmon.tv is a standby route.
 
As others have already said the BBC transponders and a few others on 28.2 east are now on a UK spot beam so either forget it or install a very big dish. Hope you got understanding neighbours.
