Hi,

I have Flash Wizard Pro 6.3, a Dreambox 7000 and a 128MB USB Stick. When I try to install any image into Multiboot with FWP, it transfers the file over fine but when it comes to the installation, it gets to either 2% or 4% and then I get an error message that says " ERROR - Error while installing".

I've tried this with the latest Gemini and Da Vinci images.

I've got the official 1.9 firmware installed in the box itself and there's 111MB free on the USB Stick.

Any ideas ?

Assuming you had formated/mounted the usb stick then you will need to have a fairly new cvs image in your flash if you dont already. Installing errors are usually caused by having "older" images on flash

:) Nearly always normally down to the fact that the flash image is not compatible with the image you are trying to put on the stick.

With modern images the flash image must not be too old, and depends what image you are trying to put on to USB.

As an example I am using, amongst others, Gemini 2.80 on USB with the DMM '2.6.9 cvs109_01112005.img' in flash....works fine too with DaVinci etc.

Always check that your new image to be installed has not been corrupted when downloaded.

If you are putting Gemini/DaVinci etc on, any recent DMM flash image should see you ok.

My golden rule.....Flash image, NO emu's and NO keys, ie: basically unused, all work being done on the stick!

Hope you get sorted.

I tend to use the latest boxman image in flash these days - available from IHAD.

The most common discrepancy is with the support for LZMA compressed images.

Oh, and Hi lovelyperson. Nice to see you here ;) LTNS :D

Thanks for the feedback folks. Download just finished from IHAD.

I thought it was important to keep the "approved" images in firmware and do the messing about on the USB stick.

:-doh! Sorry BGonaSTICK....missed this.

Thanks, always nice to pop in....nice to see that you appear to be enjoying life here.

Great hobby for us all and someone that is not just interested in the famous 'what keys' and 'how do I open Sexview etc' questions.:-Guill

....although that said, we can PRETEND we are NOT interested in those type of channels!!! :-laugh

Good work.
