I don't know if I'm doing things correctly but I've set the 26E lnb closest to the feed arm with the idea that as 13E is a lot stronger in the West Midlands than 26E I'd focus more centrally on 26E. The problem is that I'm getting a great signal from Arabsat but can't for the life of me get anything from 13E.

Hi, my name's Dave and I have the exact same problem.
When I got my system installed (1m dish motorised TM5300D+ receiver) I was able to get both Hotbird 13E and Arabsat 26E - but when I tried to get other satellites such as Badr [Arabsat] 6 to get LBC the Lebanese channel I lost both Hotbird 13E and Arabsat 26E.

I can get one by turning the motor and scanning (takes a long while to work) but then I lose the signal to the other. How can I get them both as was when I had the system installed?
Also how can I get LBC Lebanon as well?

You can forget Badr 6 on a 1m dish in the UK - you need something quite a bit bigger.
 
I can't quite remember what it was exactly that I did (sorry for the lack of help guys - edit: lack of help from me) I just remember going through the menu trying to access all the satellites and doing blind searches and then tried going via the MOTOR menu and just turning the dish.

Is it worth me just doing a reset or something? And that way will I be able to get back to both Hotbird 13 and Arabsat 26?

Sorry for the lack of details as all this stuff is incredibly new to me and I just bit off more than I could chew :)
 
if you haven't touched the dish (bolts etc) then you should get it all back...

is motor control on USALS... or diseqc 1.2?

what is your location and do you think you changed that?
 
it was on disecq 1.2 but then I pressed the manual (move left move right) then I moved it to USALS to try and get more satellites (and failed).

I haven't touched the dish.

Can I do a reset and get everything back?

Dave try sending the dish to reference point, should be able to do that in the motor menu. Then put it in USALS and enter your coordinates and the satellites should reappear.:)
 
Hi, I'm so new to this you wouldn't believe - what exactly does "sending your dish to reference point" mean? Does that mean somehow centering it?
And if so how do I actually do it?

There should be a command in the motor settings menu.

my coordinates for London are Longitude 00.00W and Lattitude 51.5N right?
OK here goes.
 
heck! I just did that and lost my Arabsat signal and don't have Hotbird 13E either.

edit: seriously, what just happened? I went to motor menu while on Arabsat26E and selected USALS and Go to reference point and now I have no signal on both satellites.
 
With the Technmate, it's: installation > motorised setting > motor control > goto reference.

Goto referecne will take your motor to zero.

Then enter your coordinates

Then send the dish to hotbird or Arabsat and see. :)

edit: Just did it. still have no signal with Arabsat. Or rather I have 76% signal but no audio/ video. What just happened?
 
It says 26.0E Arabsat/Badr 34 but I can now only seem to get Ukrainian channels on it and not the Arabic ones like Al Arabiya and MBC. I've tried deleting all the channels and doing a scan. That may work.
 
....and no it hasn't.

How do I get the channels on Arabsat 26.0E on transponders 11919H 11937V and 12052V? They've all gone and every time I scan I get a load of Ukranian channels.
 
Thanks I keep getting TV3 Norge and TV3 Denmark when what I want is Al Arabiya and MBC on transponder 11919H 27500 - yet when I go to the MENU I have a very strong signal for those channels (50-70%) yet when I press SCAN I just get the same range of channels like TV3 Norge and TV3 Denmark.
 
Right, I deleted all the channels, so I could start again but now the Arabsat 26E has fallen off my Satellite list.
So I'm starting from scratch here.
