a question about satellites.xml: I modified the contents of this file with notepad++ without problems for a long time, but recently if I inject a modified file into the sf8008, it works but does not take into account the TPs added??
in addition during the recovery by dreamset there is an error that I ended up finding and which came from this file !!
by downloading satxml on the net the sat 20E contains 16 TP but in manual search we only scan the first 8 ????
where can there be the number of TP per satellite?

I don't think that the satellite receiver still has the number of transponders for individual satellites stored somewhere. It probably gets this information from the Satellites.xml or lamedb files. Send me the "defective" satellites.xml file to hugocz@jevicko.org and I will look at it.

satellites.xml is at the same time in ETC/tuxbox and in etc/enigma2!!
dreamset only sends to one directory, and when dreamset reads, it crashes when it sorts the data!
in manual research (openatv and openvix) he chose the sat.xml of etc/enigma2 and I modified that of etc/tuxbox!!!!

satellites.xml:
/etc/tuxbox - this file is maintained by the image team
/etc/enigma2 - this file is managed by the user
the user file always takes precedence over the team file (if e2 detects an XML file in /etc/enigma2, the XML file in /etc/tuxbox is ignored)

Delete both xmls from both locations in the receiver. Then you send the xml that you previously edited back to the receiver, then there should be no problems. That's how I did it years ago when I was working on the settings lists for E1 and E2.

I have finished the new version 1.1.8 of SatXmlEditor. The main novelties are the ability to select multiple items in the transponder table and the ability to copy / paste transponders via the windows clipboard. The description is here.

The number of downloads of the program is close to 100. Does anyone have any comments on the latest version? I'm not that good of a programmer. :-)

I think it's one of the nicest looking UIs there for transponder editing. It's very clean, straight-forward and, so far, stable. I need to spend some more time with it but it's certainly going in the right direction.

What am I doing wrong? Satellites.xml file definitely exists in the given path...

EDIT: Ignore this - my fault there.

One bug I am seeing is if I press DEL button to delete a satellite (instead of F8), I get "Delete record?".. followed by:

I suspect the DEL button is not meant to be used but it still asks for a record to be deleted. F8 works OK.

Yes. The Delete key (and the Insert key) will run a standard windows procedure that bypasses my implementation. I will fix it in the next version.

The question is whether to leave both keys functional, or cancel the F8 (F9) keys and replace them with the standard Del (Ins) keys.
