what are the cheapest wheres best to get one from and how easy is it to programme the cards

If you want cheap, there are simple gold card programmers for around £30, there are several places to buy listed in previous threads.

It may be a false economy to buy the cheapest programmer available, as it is likely not to be future proof, you would probably be better off buying something a little more advanced and therefor allow for expansion of your hobby to bigger and better things.

The basic gold card is very easy to program, although some software is more user friendly than others.

Get an Elvis, real name Multi-Programmer. Still the most wide spread and so a lot of people able to give advice and available everywhere. Very easy to use take a look at the users manual on the manufacturer's website for more info: http://adteknik.se/english/manual.html
