A idea from long time ago but never found the time to make a start .
Two identical disecq rotors at one shaft , solid enough for heavy 1.2m ChannelMasters and 1.5m Gibertini / Laminas dishes .
Its the first prototype , both rotors must be modified (electronics ) also planned arc enlargment .
On the pictures just a mechanicle setup , long side plates must be more sturdy .
For the lower motor a special raincover is needed .

also made and put a angle iron between the upper U-clamp to keep the pole clamp on top .

Amazing bit of work, how do you sync both motors to same speed, is that some external electronics?

I assume these are identical motors, so *should* run at the same speed.

As the motors really move through the 2 relays you have, say that one really controls everything, movement/direction-sense and position (master) and the other is scaled, activating the relays from the master, since the axis is unified , we do not need more control in the slave

We have double power and torque, are good engines.
They are good engines, it broke down after 14 years in the motorized antenna that I use, this summer.
I like the idea, also buy 2 antennas of 90 to "get the signal", with 4 I have no place.:-doh

The alimetacion is sent separately to the second motor logically.
Is the SG2100A ???, I say it for the schematics and the component board.
I upload them in case some partner needs them.:Y
Missing what goes with the engine and the motion sensor (hall).

Como realmente los motores se mueven por los 2 reles que tiene, pongamos que uno realmente es quien controla todo, movimiento/giro-sentido y posicion (master) y el otro es escalvo, activando los reles desde el master, al estar unificado el eje, no necesitamos mas control en el esclavo

Tenemos doble de potencia y par motor.
Son buenos motores, en la antena motorizada que uso, se averio despues de 14 años, este verano.
Me gusta la idea, tambien compre 2 antenas de 90 para "enfasar la señal", con 4 no tengo sitio.:-doh

La alimetacion se la mandas aparte al segundo motor logicamente.
Es el SG2100A???, lo digo por el esquemas y la placa de componentes.
Las subo por si algun compañero las necesita.:Y
Falta lo que va con el motor y el sensor de movimiento (hall).

Great idea, Wim! I think that motor from the bottom Moteck can be connected to the upper one but only + to - and - to +. Are those 2 pieces (red arrow pointed) made of INOX?! Good move! :Y
But main difficulty for such a mount (as all motors and polar-mounts have) is fact that turning axis is not going through the center of gravity of the dish, therefore it is always hard to bring dish from the end-positions.

but maybe (when I use this set for a AS1800 Laminas) the current of those 2 motors is too much for a receiver .
So I cutted inside the main rotor (upper one) the M+ and M- wires between the maincircuit- and motorboard .
A cable from those wires goes to a external box with a relais interface .
The M+ and M- from the mainboard goes by diodes to separate East / West relais .
The contacts of these relais will be powered by a adapter .
I think the best way is to connect the 2 motors in line , so when one has a coalbrush failure , the other one also stops .

Made the slots for the end-switches in the moteck 7.5 mm longer , giving a arc from more than 170º

Yet only the pipe between the rotors is your favorite stuf , the side plates are alu , easy to work with to find out all other dimensions .
The final TwinRotor will be build from more sturdy material , maybe INOX for those side plates
 
Yesterday I made other side plates (sorry Rima , ALU ) also made the connection side of the lower motor flat and water tight .
Motor cable is leaving the housing at the backside , also drilled a hole at the lowest point of the cover .
Improved the clamping on the polar pipe to bring the dish more close to the polar axis and made elevation fine adjustment rod .
Planning to weld fixed angled attachment parts to that polar pipe for more solid construction (and better looks !)
Also the poleclamp must be made more sturdy .

Slap a patent on that quick Wim lol, lovely bit of engineering.
 
This afternoon made a new dish / declination adaptor , some parts (INOX) welded to the polar-tube .
Next thing to , fine adjust declination rod and make new pole clamp , the present one will do for 1.2 m dishes .
But for a test with a Laminas AS1800 I think a better one is needed .

Nice! I have couple of clamps like those, they are for 75mm pole. If you feel you need them you can have them.

Today nice sunny but cold day , so I put some weight ( 5 lnb revolver ) to the 1.2 CM and made a test .
On the movie its turning from ± 85º West to Astra 19.2º without any problem .
Powered by a 19 v 1.7 amp laptop adapter .

I will do some day , but You can allready hear the difference from start till it runs over south .
