Question about FTA HD at 9E

Hi,

I just got myself a Comag HD receiver and I noticed that there are two FTV HD channels at 9E. The picture quality of both is absolutely stunning. However, I was wondering why they broadcast different content. Is one meant for one market and the other for a different market?

The one at 11881 V is in 8PSK (DVB-S2), the one at 11919 V is in DVB-S. At first I thought that they were the same and the 8PSK one simple had a higher bitrate.

Does anyone know the difference between the two feeds?

Thank you!

Are you sure about different content? I haven't noticed any difference besides small time lag. Will check today again.

One of them is also transmitted with higher power (don't remember now which one), but I even can get it, when my dish is aligned to 7E.

Maybe now they have a dedicated transponder on 11881 as a DVB-S2 channel, they might disappear from 11919, as sharing bandwidth on a transponder as an MPEG4 channel can sometimes compromise picture quality. I've seen some awful quality pictures on MPEG4 channels when this happens (my theory, anyway).

Yes, they're the same content, just different times.
