HI EVERYONE

The L bracket I am using is about 8 inches from the fence. The motor will be clamped to that and then I will have the gibby dish. Would 8 inches away from the fence be enough? I just wonder as I don't want the dish banging into the fence. The maximum I would get would be 46e so it's not like it going to turn all the way around. Your thoughts please :)

You normally get another 10" from the motor assembly and stub If I recall.
Depends also on the dish face size.

Will also depend where South is in relation to the fence.

Fence is facing South.

Personally I use 18 inch T/Ks on a 1m dish on a usals mount ...even on a South facing wall ..
This may seem overkill as 12 inchT/Ks would suffice ..
but I always think about the what ifs ...
One day I might (unlikely though it is) want to fit a dish with a polar mount and jack ..
which would of course need more clearance ..
..Is this forward planning ? ...or just me in overkill mode as usual.
lol

I need not have worried! All seems to be working fine and the dish has plenty of room to turn. I'm getting 45E to about 15W. I knew I'd lose birds to the west but that's not an issue. More interested in the eastern ones. ALL GOOD :D

It's not bad! The dish is much lower down and does not seem to get bothered too much by the wind....which is good! :)
