I would not have put him as old as that but well RIP Simon, a true sound of the sixties

Saw this news in the radio Caroline thread and was surprised that it hadn't been more widely publicised, a very popular figure back in his day, but his TV career was relatively short lived.

Rest in peace Simon.

RIP Simon, he had a relaxed style when presenting his TV chat show which many of us really liked.

What a shock. I had no idea he was that old - he was always young at heart.

He had a very relaxed style and i used to enjoy his TV programme. I don't remember him on the radio but I suspect that was because he was on Caroline south.

I last saw him on TV in a special one-off Dee Time on Channel 4 a fw years ago and it was great to see him in action again. It was a shame that he was so overlooked.
