RAI DAB+ feed from 5 West

That's an interesting report...
Which 14 stations are affected?

All 14 sites in Aosta and in the western part of Lombardia, which use channel 8B (the eastern part uses 7C in a very large SFN) will get this new mux with (2) local variants of RAI Radio Uno.

So RAI will have two local and one national mux.

Well, let’s see what July brings – whether there’s any news on the satellite front.
RaiWays, however, handles the bulk of its traffic via land bridges

Someone reported that the DAB BuMux on 12168 V at 23.5E has stopped broadcasting. I checked the mux and found that the two DAB stations are still active.
Who knows, maybe they’ll leave on July 1(?).

forget that, it was an error, and the person has deleted it.

But good news, I found two additional muxes on 5W!

While looking for possible new RAI transmission for Aosta Valley and Piedmont West, I found MEDIADAB 6D from Liguria (Genova) on 5°W:

It's on the same TP like the RAI national DAB multiplex, but on a new MIS 21 and they are using the same technology like RAI

PID is 1002

It was a bit tricky as all MEDIADAB ensembles have the same label, but 0x5050 is channel 6D in Liguria.

And I found the new local RAI mux, which will start on 1st July only.

As announced by RAI it really contains all 20 (!) labels for the regional versions of RAI Radio 1, but all other then Aosta and Piedmont are pointing to the same subchannel. Therefore, the bitrates are still quite high for Italy.

I found this by chance on digitalbitrate :-)

In addition to MIS 11 and 12 on 12562 V, 35300, 3/4, 8PSK, we now have MIS 21-Media DAB, and on MIS 12, the DC-II Video stream

Videostream????? Very funny. This is DAB digital radio.

Haven't you read my posting? Internal Tests for RAI. They will officially start on 1st July.

I tested MIS 21 on 12563 V, 35300, 3/4, 8PSK for DAB Media, and it runs very well.

Thanks to @andimik for his efforts in searching for and finding these DAB streams. :-clap

It turns out that the much-anticipated expanded DAB RAI service(test) announced by @andimik(thanks) is now up and running and can be listened to.
It's on MIS 12.

Both Italian DAB RAI and Media with MIS 12 and 21 on 12563 V work well on Windows with Crazyscan and WSL_Ubuntu 24.04

Has anyone tested the RAI Test ensemble 24/7?

I just want to know if eti-tools still have a problem with the reconfiguration during local news.

I can't receive BBC anymore, so I have no idea if it persists.

If yes: Maybe I try to fix it with AI.

Are you referring to the RAI Test on MIS 12 or MIS 21 MediaDAB at 5.0W? If so, both DAB stations are working fine. Of course, the same goes for MIS 11.
Which BBC station are you talking about, on 12092 H at 9.0E?

Yes, the RAI Test Mux

Have you tested during the switch to local configuration and back to national?

There is no BBC on 9E. They are on the UK Beam on 28.2E

Both are the only NA muxes via satellite with reconfiguration.

I didn’t test it when it was switched over, but only just now, when I read your message yesterday.

But eti-tools are always working , when you are (fresh) tuning. I'm talking about reconfiguration.

When I tested eti-tools, I didn’t notice anything unusual in its behaviour or any desynchronisation. It quickly identified the IDs and played the stream without any interruptions. That’s why I was surprised that, with a signal that wasn’t exactly strong – 7.8 dB – I had no problems playing the stream.
Perhaps it would have been better to test the RAI DAB MISs on 1 July or immediately afterwards. The result and diagnosis would have been more conclusive(?).
