Just about ready to scan Nss 7 as I've been told that there are about 5 western feeds on this sat which I have never scanned on ku. I hope the 40cm of snow which fell overnight doesn't affect reception.

Scanned in:

11709 H 4619
11898 H 4622
12174 H 4112
12180 H 4623

Western footprint.

Nothing here for me now Costactc. Maybe different coverage area?

No doubt...feeds were for the Mandela funeral which must be over by now.

11032H 6670 feed back on again.

Was having a quick go at NSS7 20W and am baffled that I got a tp having a global coverage whilst nothing from the East Hemisphere.
Now the Global coverage according to Flysat&Lyngsat is about 34db in my geographical location, which is zilch here, yet I am getting this TP with a 1.59db and holding steady whilst the others from the East Hemi nothing!

I am only locking one TP at my location, AL NABAA-TV 12735 H 1500

Oh I am getting that Martin no problem but as regards C:Band I am only getting TP 4130R DVB-S2 QPSK 12120 1/2 which has a Global Footprint

I don't have a C/Band setup at the moment zorbua, but that will be next fabricating job, once I get the KU/C/Band dish up,

Lovely Martin looking forward to it.

THANKS! New C-band position logged :D Though, it's very weak...

I understand what you mean about beams and I see this on a number of C band sats. Either they are reported incorrectly or signals are just stronger... Mind you, 1/2 FEC goes a long way into helping lock these TPs.

Btw, I blind scanned the satellite on the Uno and it also picked up data TP 3954R on the east hemi beam though there's nothing on there obviously.

Yes Jack signal is really low, very surprised how lock is so steady possibly as you sat the symbol rate of 1/2 says a lot, Btw I also picked up another TP not marked anywhere - doing blindscan with DB 8000 but the freq comes out as 6184 H Sym Rate 3679 2/3. There are 3 channels - Atlantic - News - Sports - signal is better 5db I believe, but of course can't open them.

Must be very strong Jack to be able to pick it up 2 full degrees out....Thanks thought it to be an unnamed TP.

btw are you picking up 40.5 W? Picking quite a few myself from that Sat

Yes, lots of channels on 40.5W. TPs picked up depends on the day but I generally get about 30-odd transponders.

Indeed quite a lot, I got about 51 channels on my Dreambox from this Sat and 3 channels from 34.5W.

Normal scan of Ses 6, with dilectric plate inserted in my lnbf, yields approximately 128 open channels and over 90 tp.

Strange results from this, I get two transponders from the Eastern hemi beam 3913V and 3982V, both have similar SQ readings in Dream of 88/17. The SNRs are 6.2 and 5.2dB respectively. 4130V is 83/66SQ but only 4.9dB SNR.CNNi AOR Common_3400 3982_V_25000_20140427_145603.webp TCC_3400 3913_V_8950_20140427_145506.webp
