I recently upgraded my adsl modem router to a separate modem and separated router. The router setup was a breeze using Windows pc, that included flashing the firmware to a friendly one. Went on to set up the modem, try and login in to the modem to set it up for my connection, using my main pc, tried several browser, but no joy, so I tried on my "aircraft" pc and still no joy, thinking it might be a 64 bit issue, I booted my old 32 bit machine and still no joy. Getting quite desperate at this point, my Raspberry Pi happened to catch my eye. I loaded a fresh memory card into it, used the Pi plugged directly into the modem, and set it up, thankfully. I am now thinking of using a Pi as "desktop" pc now, I will keep an eye out for one in the new year.
