Raumfeld do it again

I have a raumfeld connector2 and sadly it's been a nightmare

Internet radio is very hit and miss, and I have been emailing them with "suggestions for improvements" and they don't listen!

They email back telling me it's a problem with the net radio provider, yet the same station via the very same weblink on anything else apart from the raumfeld!

Well I turned it on last night to try it again, and I greeted with a firmware update, and the unit would not let me back out of out.

Well after the update I wanted to test it out, and now I get no sound what so ever out of the analogue left and right :-(

Really cheesed off at the moment!

Perhaps that is the problem?, you somehow interrupted the update process

I assume there is some way of performing a factory reset, if so have to tried that, have you tried powering down for some time and powering back up?

Yeah done that, I can reflash it, if I have to.

I will have to give it ago.
 
Finally got it working out of the analogue outputs.

They still haven't sorted the internet radio problem out :-(

But at least it makes a sound.

Finally had my fill with this unit!

They say it's comparable to sonos, that's a joke sonos actually works.

My advice to anyone thinking of buying this unit is, don't do it you will regret it.

The change log says it's fixed the TuneIn problem, but it hasn't!

Google cast also doesn't work!

Flac files of 24/96 kHz also now have a poping sound just to add that raumfeld sound.
 
On Amazon.de they currently have 4 new units. and 16 second hand ones.

The front review - translated in part appears to reflect what you have experienced.

Everything works to our full satisfaction, well ... until shortly before Christmas Raumfeld on the idea comes an update for the connector 2 "push".
That's it! The two connectors are no longer working. The loudspeakers L continue to perform first class without compromise.
After Christmas call the customer service. One really takes time and assures that no other customer has this problem. Our in-house network is telemetered thoroughly, next the server is the turn. The connectors get a firmware update are resettet (the whole over several floors in the house), but unfortunately unsuccessful.
We are asked to write a report about the app and we want the programmer to get a solution within a few days.
Is done, but nothing happens.
2 weeks later (it was Christmas and New Year) I call again the customer service.
You take the data briefly, ask for a report about the app and want to take care of you.
Nothing!
 
Yeah, it's a common problem.

And when you email them they just say it's a one off.

I have never know a company so hopeless and every update takes away something.

And the last update also changed the sonic signature.

My iPhone now sounds better, it didn't with the 1.58 firmware shipped with the unit, and it went downhill from there.

They still insist I have to use TuneIn radio, with injected adverts.

None of the Crome cast features work at all with iOS devices.

I have also been emailing TuneIn radio & the radio provider as well as raumfeld.

It really doesn't surprise me to find them second hand, there are a hell of a lot of disgruntled customers.
 
Side note,

The TuneIn radio app on iPhone is finally playing coco radio, after 5 months of emailing TuneIn and coco radio.

I might try it on the raumfeld if I can be bothered to plug it back in.
