re-subscribing to sky

I have my old sky digibox and new 1.3 meter dish in Portugal but only have the old light blue card. I've asked to re-subscribe to sky using my address in the UK and they will send me a new card in the next 5 days. Will I need to bring the box back to the UK to activate the card?Or can I do it in Portugal without connecting it to the phone line.
 
You just need to phone them, best to get someone to do it from the UK, but if not, a mobile from Portugal should be OK.
 
They only do that if it is a new installation and you are getting a free box from them.
