My Satellite Setup
a sky mini dish + a Dreambox 600S with Gemini- 430 and CCcam 2.0.8
My Location
Cornwall UK
I received my satellite package in the post today, and I wont mention where it came from until everything that was wrong is sorted. Firstly the Triax TD 88 dish was scratched on the back, Triax is not printed on the dish, although it did come in a Triax TD 88 box, the picture on the box shows three holes in a triangle above the arm, whereas on the dish there are four holes in a rectangle. Is this a real Triax TD 88 dish? I can try to post photos if needs be. The three Triax lnb's that I payed for did not arrive instead three universal lnb's arrived. Other than that it did arrive to Ireland from the UK in 2days.

I've had my guess ................. and will keep it to myself for now, in order to protect your interests.

Thanks, can you help with identifying the legitimacy of the Triax TD 88 dish?

Well I wouldn't swear an oath in court, but I'm not aware of any Triax dishes matching the description you gave.

Please do post up some pics though.

I will try to upload some soon, the layout of the four holes above the removed section for the arm does not correspond to the picture on the box. There is no stamp or sticker or anything whatsoever on the dish to indicate that it is Triax (or genuine Triax) and it is scratched on the back as if it is a return, what a shoddy service, would really like to know if its a fake.

Any chance of those pics yet?

Here are some not so great photos as I only have my phone camera at the mo.

That is a Triax TD88.

Why is the picture on the box of the dish, different to the actual dish?

Just an idealised drawing of a satellite dish, a near enough representation of a Triax.

Box and dish the same as mine that I purchased a couple of months ago, albeit a 1M Triax.

OK so you are saying that it is a genuine Triax?

Well I'm pleased my scepticism appears not to have been justified.

No name on the dish, but I have no reason to believe it isn't a Triax. If you're that concerned, take it up with your supplier.

I will be when they return to the office on Monday, but I am sure if the supplier tried to pull a fast one, he will be telling me its a real one. I thought with the expertise on this forum it would be easily determined.

The picture on the box is of a TD78, have a look at a photo of one.

Hey man do you mind me asking where you got yours? You can pm me if you want.

If you like I have a TD88 here that I can take a photo of and post it on here tomorrow so you can compare it. (It's light grey, not dark like the one you have)

I will when I find the receipt. From one of two well-known and trusted sellers.

Does it say Triax on it? Yes please do send a pic if you can.

No, it doesn't say Triax. In fact I can't recall a Triax dish that actually has 'Triax' written on it. The elevation adjustment is quite distinctive with a sort of 'ribbed' effect on the back of the dish mount. Does yours have what Triax refer to as a "click clack" LNB arm? (You can fold it in towards the dish face)

I'll try and post a pic on here tomorrow.
