It has started raining relatively heavily in the past 30 mins so this might be the best I get.

Silabs tuners do amazingly with low SRs (provided there is a correct driver combination) going down to 200Ks/s.
This means receivers such as DM920, SF4008/8008, HD51 etc perform well. The specs state lower SR is 1000 but fortunately it's not the case.

The new Availink tuner in Edision OS ninopro/mio4k refuses to tune anything below 1000. However the specs state a low of 0 ks/sec, and the steep cut is up for further investigation. I believe it's clearly a driver/firmware limitation that should be fixed in future releases. Having said that, the tuner states it can lock up to 60000 Ks/sec which is impressive if it's true.

This is not completely accurate; once (once) the blindscan of the MIO4K found a sr below 1000

I forgot to mention the above images were of a Vantage 7100S from around 2009, whose front end consists of the STi7101 chipset and a Samsung tuner.

Manual adding of a transponder allowed symbol rates as low as 800 to be stored in the scan list and I think could go further, confirming the end stop is not limited by the osg like many other receivers, though I was unable to find anything other than that channel detail shown on Wednesday.

I do have a Wetek Play (Mk1) in the rack and will try it over the weekend, however I recall the tuner module being a very simple plug in affair, a twin unit.

Finding is one thing, tuning and watching is another! Did you actually manage to tune to this tp after blindscan? I don't think you could...

It was a transponder with data, no TV program or radio, so there was nothing to watch or listen to.

But as I wrote, it was a unique result, after I tried to other places where I knew there were radios,
there he found nothing, even with the manual data.

I was checking if Wetek had put in limits on parameters other than the symbol rate when designing the Theatre part of the receiver. Seems they didn't.

I currently have an Octagon SF8008 to play with, so looking for low S/R transponders again.

So far I've found one sub1000 but looking for others. Are the 30W channels mentioned above still active ?20190416_090729.jpg

No luck with 16E (I must put the Ka band kit on the roof) , so it looks like the lowest s/r (at least on the standard kit I have upstairs) receivable is approximately 300 kb / kB/s

Just caught radio Vaticana 4 on 12.5W with a s/r of 256 (12601 Vertical), coming in clear.

I have however got a swirling blue circle on the SF8008 screen, remote and front panel button doing not a lot.

Do you know if the 950MHz lower tuning range on the Mutant HD51 is hardware limited or is it limited in Enigma2?
Are there any E2 boxes you know of that can tune below 950MHz? Would be perfect to have one that can do low SR and tune lower down as Es'Hail2/Oscar 100 is becoming quite popular.
