BTW 1 question: if BBC(for example) buys rights to transmit in uk, and then transmits FTA in astra 2e(which is easy receivable in france, right?), why doesn't the copyright holder complain about that? Receiving FTA TV is legal, right?

Because, despite better technology, especially regarding spot beams, there is still inevitable overspill and this is factored into the Copyright negotiations.

The intended coverage area of the UK, its outlying Islands and the Republic Of Ireland is a difficult size and shape to make the compromise between guaranteed good reception within and minimal overspill without.

And yes, if you can get FTA out of area, it's a welcome bonus that doesn't attract the attention of those with a pecuniary and legal interest. Just as well, really, otherwise our hobby would be dead in the water!

If i wanted to install a 180cm dish and try to receive those channel with it(if i had no luck i could use it to receive other sat channels), will it be expensive?
I think i need a structure to hold it in place in the roof, is that structure expensive?

That all depends on local installers pricing, as I doubt you could DIY. It can cost you couple of hundreds EUR plus price of the material and plus price of the antenna.
will post some pics this afternoon.
Did you manage to take some pictures of your current installation?

Although here the quality of answers is mostly at high level I always recommend to research in local sat boards as well since the reception conditions in fringe areas can be quite chaotic. Therefore take some time and read here: I satelliti Astra sui 28° E - Spot UK
Maybe somebody quite close to you has experience with bigger dishes aiming to Astra 2E/F/G.
You might have a problem to find an experienced installer since many of them are specialised to smaller dishes which are much quicker and easier to get at maximum signal.
There are couple of more problems to cope with that you can imagine right now.

No point trying a 1.8m bud - you have no chance with something that small!

Slightly off topic I know, but I'm currently in Costa del sol, there's a shop here selling boxes for 27.5w @ 160 euros. Cheeky cheeky

You need a meter & know how to use it to find out what the received signal strength is at your location.

However we already know from previous work done on this forum the received signal in northern Italy is almost none existent.

Its reasonably easy to open them though. Thousands of expats in Spain are using it. HOWEVER - seeing as the BBC is under increasing year on year pressure to cut costs with massive cuts being applied to budgets dont be surprised if the 27.5W signals are discontinued at some point

They have been saying that for years, I believe even before the FilmNet/FilmMax disappeared from the position - which was a real shame.

Snap's setup: (In Spain) Humax HDR, Prodelin 1.8m dish + Invacom QDF-031 + CM feed, (In UK) CallFlow VDSL + EE 4G, Sky Q, YouView HD, Mac OSX, iOS
My Location
UK: Tonbridge, Kent. Spain: Madrid.
Below are some reception reports sent into my site skyinmadrid.com after the switch to 2E/2F/2G:
Receiving the BBC:
1.5 m in Verona
1.25 m in Milan
100 cm in Liguria, 50 km W. of Verona
80 cm in Milan
1.5 m in Modena (marginal)
75 cm in Rivaalo Canavese, Turin
1.5 m in Parma
100 cm in Turin.
The nearest to SuperGiachi567's location is Verona, 56 miles to the west, with a 1.5m working. My guess is 1.8 to 2.4 m installed by a good technician would work.

Im dubious about most of those reports - they do not agree with many of the reports we have on our map

Have a chat with STARSAT, La TV dal Satellite .I know they can be helpful.
I know of one chap in Milan that can receive the Uk spot beam with a 1m dish but only just. But I can also remember someone with a 1.25m dish having problems just 30 kms to the east of Milan.
