Receiving small freq range on 9E from monoblock lnb 13E & 9E

60 cmd dish with a 4 Degree Mono Block Quad LNB pointing to 13 & 9 E

Hi All,

I changed my LNB to a quad monoblock lnb with a 4.3degree separation.
It picked up both hotbird at 13E and eurobird at 9E

The problem I have is while it picks up eurobird at 9E it does not pick up a lot of the freq ranges.

It picks up some like 11823H, 11804V. But trying to pick any of the other frequencies just draws a blank!

It is like the satellite is not there!

I am a bit stumped.

What am I doing wrong?

Am a complete newbie so if anyone has a answer to what is going on then please let me know the help would be greatly appreciated!

If this question has been answered elsewhere then apologies but please point me in the right direction!

May well be dish alignment, skew or receiver DiSEqC setting.

Can you post up a picture so we can see all is ok with monoblock mounting.
 
Which channels are you getting on 9E 11804, wouldn't be RAI channels by any chance would they?

If that is the case, you need to allocate a DiSEqC number B or 2 to the 9E satellite.
 
Check that you are using the correct part of the LNB for 13E.

With the receiver tuned to 13E, cover up with your hand the right hand side of the LNB (from behind dish,when looking towards the sky), the signal from Hotbird should be lost.

If it is'nt you have the wrong Diseqc position for Hotbird and the dish needs re-aligning.


Also check that you have an up to date transponder list for 9E.

As I see it Gents....you have to fiddle ever so slightly with the Azimuth E or W so that you gain a bit on the 9 E and loose a little on the 13 E being of course a mono block LNB.
 
A duoblock LNB with a 4.3 degree spacing is only that on the correct sized dish (usually 75-80 cm).

If you are using an odd shaped reflector, or something larger, or smaller, there is every chance the LNB is only just picking up signals from the second satellite.

Additionally the focal distance is critical, the secondary feed has to be correctly positioned for both elevation on the arc (in your case it will be slightly lower than the 13 East part) , and slightly closer to the dish surface.
 
I'm using the PIXX satellite reciever where i can't find the antenna eurobird 9. could somebody help me to set the satellite. i'm using a monoblock which used for astra and hotbird. I tried a big search in my reciver to find the eurobird satellite but without success. could somebody let me know how to et my eurobird antenna in my DVB reciver? Thanks in advance.:)

A monoblock with 6° spacing will be no good for Hotbird and EB9, you need a 4.3° mono.
If EB9 isn't listed, add a new satellite and name it.
