Hello
I have been looking into receiving spanish tv, and I found out that there is a service similar to fransat in france and freesat in uk called tdtsat, but when I google it i can only find packages offered with only a few channels (on astra and hispasat) instead of all the tdt channels (la 1, 2, clan, teledeporte, antenna 3, la sexta etc.) I know that to get it free you need to live in spain and prove you can't receive tv through analogue, but I think they are available normally if you pay for the box. Do any of you know of a company in the uk that offers full tdtsat systems?

As far as I am aware these channels are only available with a digital+ subscription but are free via a normal aerial(tdt), obviously in Spain.

It is a good back up for expats here as many of the channels ( about 50%) are available in english.

To the best of my knowledge the equivalent of a freesat from sky card does not exist and all the decent channels are encryted and would need a card to open them.

there is a service operates by Abiertis (i think - like the Arquiva in the UK), TDT Para satellite.
Lots of red tape to get through to get a box (eg proof that you are in a non TDT signal area), but they basically open the "basic" channels on Hispasat, that would normally require a C+ subscription.

Ok thanks, is there a way to get a box without going through abertis?

last time i asked ( a few months ago) there was, but it was at a "way too high" price...

for some info: televisiondigital.es/Terrestre/sat/Paginas/inicio.aspx

do a search on the forum, it has been mentioned before...(i think pipino (?) posted a few links??)

I did a search for spain, tdtsat and piping, but what mostly came up was tntsat forums, and about Astra satellites, and I think tdtsat is on hispasat 30 w

Oh hang on he hasn't been on in like two months, I don't suppose he still uses the forum :(

If there isn't a way to recieve tdtsat, do you guys think there would be a way for me to get a canal+ spain box (preferabley without subscription but please tell me if it is the best option) and be able to watch the tdtsat channels?

As I understand it, you need a subscription to Canal+ to use their box to receive terrestrial channels.

Oh ok thank you for confirming this. So do you think it isn't really possible to get spanish terrestrial channels in the uk without a canal+ subscription?

Cheapest deal is the Bullfighting channel, which gets you the national channels and costs about 20€/month.

The Digital+ box doesn't work at all without a subscription card. TDT satellite boxes, which use Hispasat satellites, are only issued when an official "antenista" has been to your property to check that there is an insufficient terrestrial digital signal. Only with this report are you allowed to purchase and have the satellite equipment installed. This is how it works here in Galicia, so unless you have a "friend" within the system...

You could try an Iris 9600HD sat box. It connects the the internet and receives the decrypt keys for all the Spanish channels that are broadcast on Astra 1, plus loads of the Spanish Canal+ channels - no subscription.
You should be able to find one on the internet. There is no cast iron guarantee how long the channels will be available though.
I have one and can confirm that it works for all the usual channels, La1, La2, Antena 3, Cuatro etc....

Please remember that ANY discussion at all of these illegal key sharing boxes is absolutely forbidden on the forum

Hi guys I forgot to say I did manage to get a tdt sat box in the end from tdtprofesional.eu :)

Good to know. Some good but old programming on Divinity and Nitro.
