i can tell you things will change soon and will be similar as in italy with Tivu

not quite like Tivu ,i just got more infos and update about the matter as from next week a special box will be available from Ikusi and exclusively for ppl who cant receive the signal thru the terrestrial way this box will be managed and authorized directly from Abertis telecom(ex :Retevision) i saw the way to activat the box ,simple words :a real headach!! it has to be certified thru official instalers Abertis Telecom has autorized, unlike the televes box witch already exist to receive the DTT-SAt signal the Ikusi Box have both sat and terrestrial tuners ,..any way i drop some doc and more infos here....cheers

Can anyone tell me where to find TVE International as it has stopped transmitting on Astra. They have had a rolling message for the last few weeks in french saying that it will stop broadcasting on Astra as of June 30 but doesnt say where you can now pick it up. We have also noticed that Andalucia has dropped off of the normal sattellite. Whats happening to the FTA spanish channels?

TVEi continues fta on Hotbird 13E

Andalucia changed frequenct to 11597V 22000 5/6

Thanks Analoguesat.

I have a MVision F8080 with a basic dish and Universal LNB. I have found Hotbird and have managed to save; first time try about 35 channels and on a second try about 76 channels but they are all German and TVEi is not there. I changed the settings for the LNB to get the variation in quantity of channels.
Do i need to do a firmware upgrade on the box or upgrade the box or do i get an LNB that will pick up all the Hotbird channels.
Thats the crux of the matter. i cant understand why i can pick up some channels on Hotbird but not the one i want.
I dont have a lot of knowledge with regard to this subject but would like to learn more as i have an IT/electronic background. Is there anywhere i can go to read up starting with the bascis and what i need to do ensure i have a system that can cope with channels moving to different sattellites?

If the Channels are mainly German, you're on Astra 1, not Hotbird ..............

But i am able to select Hotbird and when i toggle between sattellites with my remote it clearly says Hotbird.

All you are doing is selecting a Data Table .. you can change the name of that Table to whatever you like.

The fact is, you can only receive Hotbird Channels if you have a Dish/LNB aligned to Hotbird.

Selecting "Hotbird" whilst aligned to Astra 1 will merely result in the reception of a few Astra 1 Channels with similar frequency etc. parameters to those also used on Hotbird.

You need to move your Dish .....................

Yup - you need to swing your dish around from 19E to 13E.

Mark the dish / post locations BEFORE you start just in case you get hopelessly lost

Guys, thanks so much for the advice. Have been busy for the last month so will now try to remedy the problem and keep the spanish wife happy.
I have been trying to get a bit of knowledge about sattellites etc and have read a bit of stuff on forums and various webistes that sell the kit and have seen in that big DIY store in every town a Philex mono block twin LNB that can receive both Astra and Hotbird. I have also found a MTI AK51-M12BL Monoblock LNB For Astra and Hotbird 13+19 Degrees on a website. Obviously we want to be able to see TVE again but not lose out on seeing the other spanish channels so will one of these type of LNB's solve the problem or is there one you can recommend? This way am i right in thinking i dont have to fiddle around with the dish?
As i said before i have a MVision F8080, will it be compatible (Disecq) with the LNB? I ask because the spec for the MTI Monoblock says it needs a Disecq compatible receiver.
The LNB that i have from what i can see has Skyware written on the outside. I will need to get the ladder out to have a look and see if there is more info written on it. It looks like i may have to get a different mounting bracket for a Mono block LNB if thats the way to resolve.
Hopefully you can see what i am trying to achieve as the only other idea i had was to buy another dish and LNB and then get a switch to switch between each dish but surely the Monoblock LNB overcomes this problem??
Again your advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Your dish size/type is not stated in your profile, if you update that it would make things easier.

Yes monoblock can be used to pick up 13E+19E from a dish focussed on either satellite, but it depends on the dish.

Since your LNB has Skyware on it, I would suspect that its a Sky dish, if its the little one, it won't work with a monoblock, not sure about the bigger one, not tried.

i have access for some exclusive material to receive the signal direct from Hispasat and actualy you have the spanish (23)national tv TDT thru satellite..if interested send me a PM...sorry guys i cant do this for every one...in this case , the chap has a wife to make her happy in UK ...LOL..regards

Robbo, thanks for the advice. My dish is a 60cm dish with millions of holes in it. Its definitly not a Sky dish. I had it installed a bout 3 years ago when the wife (spanish) moved in with me. Its just a basic MVision F8080 and 60 cm dish in order to pick up FTA Spanish Channels along with loads of other stuff from all over Europe etc.
