Hi all,

Been looking around the forum to see if anyone's had the problem ive got. Seen theres a few experts when it comes to Cyprus reception of Sky, from both sides of the border.

Ive got a 2.4m dish, with that I got all sky channels, no BBC or ITV or E4 it seems now. About a year ago I added a really strong LNB and since then I receive BBC and ITV most of the day. They go off in the evening, around 8.30 till about 11.30, unless theres Champions League on Itv and it "knows" to come on later just to piss me off!

Anyhow, about a month ago, ALL my channels were cutting up constantly from morning to night. Even my strongest channels, like Sky Spts 1. There were periods of 30-40 minutes where it would be normal, but then go mad for hours and drive me mad with it. It went back to normal after about a week of this madness.

Since the other day it's been doing it again. I cant even watch Only Fools on Gold, without gettin a flipping headache! Ive been told it could be something to do with ship radars that come into Limassol port from time to time. I dnt know if thats valid, because theres a guy literally 40m from my house that has a 3m dish and has been having no problems at all.

Could anyone offer a logical explanation??! Any help would be much appreciated!

Where in Limassol are you and have you had anybody check your dish lately? Sky sports 1 2 &3 never break up.

Have you had a look at the feedhorn to see if a spider has made a nest in there?

Nice1....must write that down so i don't forget it..:-rofl2

on a more serious note...get your setup checked by a professional who has experience on SKY systems.
Its that time of the year again when the signal level (due to the atmospheric conditions) on 2D starts deteriorating so every dish suffers signal loss.(in Cyprus)
If the dish is large enough and properly aligned this is not noticed, but if the signal is not strong enough (due to smaller size or poor alignment) then the signall loss is noticeable.
