Recommend a box?

Can anyone recommend a Dreambox model that would be the closet to replacing a Sly HD box? I would like to replace my box with one capable of 2 tuners and PVR aswell as being able to act as a share server.

Can anyone recommend a box?

I see the TM6900 (I know not Dreambox) is very close but I don't think it's linux based so I couldn't share!

If you are looking for a dual HD tuner box, the DM8000 is the only Dreambox model capable of this.

I dont know anything about Technomate receivers so cant comment on the TM6900 .

As compufunk says: the only twin tuner is the DM8000 but it is pricy.
The alternative is 2 x DM800 which could be bought at different times and can be used in the same place (or 2 different places if so desired). Remember that you can watch the recording on any Dreambox from another Dreambox or your PC, so 2 DM800s will be similar to a twin tuner box.
The DM8000 has many more features than the standard Sly box, so cannot really be compared.
I have a Technomate TM9100 (linux based) and the software was/is pathetic and the support very limited, so I would defintely not recommend Techonomate. Linux based receivers are the best, but do require Linux ability otherwise it will be a steep learning curve to make it work.
Unfortunate, with these boxes as with everything, you get what you pay for and the Dreamboxes are the best of the lot by a country mile.
I would also be wary of clones as they have their own problems.
You could wait for the DM500s HD that will be released in the new year. It is single tuner, similar to the DM800, but with a fixed satellite tuner and it looks like it will be cheaper than the DM800.
