Hi
I'm going to upgrade my current 1.0m static dish with a motorised system. There are plenty of kits available on the market with an assortment of sized dishes. Usually with kits there is a compromise somewhere. Any recommendations for any systems?

My site is south facing with a generally good line of sight...do I need the largest dish possible as I live in West London.

If your 1m dish is of good quality, then a DiseqC motor and set of T&K mounts will get you up and running. :) Will it be in an exposed position.?

Also just to add, if your considering changing the dish afterall, then go for a FR PENTA 85cm.

Yes quite exposed...I don't know if it is particularly good quality because there are no visible markings but it has been up for over 10years without probs other than to replace lnbs when swithcing to digital.

If I can get away with just adding a motor and brackets are there any compatibility issues? The dish is mounted on a heavy duty L bracket, I would say it is at least 50mm in diameter if not wider.

Standard DiSEqC motor arms are 2", so about the same, if your L mount is plumb, then you could use that, providing it gives you enough turning room. I use mostly Moteck motors, mainly because they are reliable.
