hi,
appologies if I'm asking something asked before but Im having real trouble finding instructions on this.

I've just got my xmas pressy DM800 and have spent the whole of boxing day trying to get my ReadyNAS mounted...I've finally got it mounting on boot (using the approach of putting a shell script under /etc/rcS.d/S90netmount.sh).

It's mounting as /mnt/hdd and I can now see Dreambox has created a /usr/lib/ipkg/info dir.

(note on the 800, /mnt is a soft link to /media, and /hdd links to /media/hdd so /mnt/hdd, /media/hdd, and /hdd are all the same, and correctly pointing at my NAS)

Trouble is, it's still not allowing me to record, and pops up the "no HDD, or HDD needs initialising" message when I attempt to.

I'm assuming this is because I have a diskless system (with the intention of course to just record to the NAS) and that it needs some configuration to either make it think I have an HDD ? or maybe I've completly missed the point and it doesn't default record to /media/hdd (or one of its soft links).

Any help much appreciated...(i have plenty of other problems to follow on ! but this is my first priority !)

thanks,
Ant.

aha ! Got it..

Had to press 'Video' on the remote to get the "Recorded Files" screen..then press 'Video' again, and that changes the screen to a dialog to select the movie path.

The Bouquet buttons move the focus between the top panel (Paths) and bottom panel (Bookmarks).

Since i'd mounted my NAS drive on /media/hdd, highlighting 'Harddisk' and clicking Green/OK added it to my bookmarks..I was then able to record a program. (Note I was also able to add a bookmark to the ReadyNas via the upnp device that showed up in the upper section and record directly via upnp)

think i'll fiddle a little longer to tidy up the things I screwed around with earlier before I can say I'm done.
Ant.
