I am very new to all of this streaming nonsense (at 56 years old!) and would like some help, please. I have a DreamBox 529-S set up and working together with VLC on my PC. No problems at all. I can watch all channels on my PC successfully. What I'd like to know is if I can record the TV stream using VLC while watching on my PC? I can take snapshots of TV programs and the snapshot appears in the designated folder. However, if I press the record button, there is no resulting video file from the TV stream. Strangely, if I am watching, for example, an .avi file and then press the record button, a video recording of the .avi file IS produced. I am confused. Please help!!
