Recording - File/Movie name from EPG

Hi,

I have a hdd mounted and I record fine. My question, is it possible to automatically have a new file for each new EPG event?

For example, If I'm recording 6 hours continuous from a single channel airing movies...I want the output to be 3 files (assuming 3 movies) in my dbox hdd with the EPG event-name as the movie name? Currently I just get one big file, or 1GB chunks.

I don't think its possible at the minute. It probably wont be either as the DM500 is not really intended as a PVR device.

The only way to do it is to stop recording after each program/film and restart when the new EPG event is active. This is true of all the PVRs I've used.
 
ok...is it possible to add a cron job to record...maybe then i can run it every couple of minutes to check for new events and in case finds one starts recording, or add a timer?
