OK-The dilema
You are asked to install a TV aerial to allow decent Freeview reception, only because the customer has bought (or been bought) a flatscreen digital television.
The earlier model (quite often a good wide screen tube TV) is now relegated to the other end of the living room, and will shortly be taken down to the local tip, even though it could be less than six or seven years old, and with a good clean working remote control.
I used to offer a free collection and take them down to the few retirement homes in my area, often replacing the ancient piece of junk that gave pensioners cataracts in the day room, but now I have run out of places to take them to.
Does anyone know how to pass them on, without having to go down the Freecycle route (a pain as I have a narrow front pathway and absolutely no spare room in the house) - even the second car is now full of *useful* motorcycle parts.
Btw, I still use two tube TVs at home, one of them being the first Bush Integrated TVs, and apart from one repair not so long ago, runs perfectly (well apart from the lack of Freeview updates, but I can live with that). The other is a Panasonic 32" non-IDTV affair, with a plethora of inputs at the rear, so I've no desire to spend out on new fangled stuff.
