Just watched the first episode of Series 11 ..
It doesn't get old ...though the red dwarf crew certainly have ...
Enjoyed it muchly ..
Nice resurrection of a classic .

Aww man I liked that show, too bad I can't find it listed here on satellite stateside.

I have a 3 DVD set, wish I kept going.
 
Watched the first episode a couple of times now, and I can't help but feel that it's crammed too much in to a half-hour slot, as it seems to be over before it's started, it was a good story though, but, it was a tad lacking...

Nice to see Starbug back though (even if the cockpit has been "reimagined" and shrunk), poor little ship's crashed more often than a ZX-81... :-rofl2
 
Watched the re-run last night, and, sadly, I was not impressed - very much the old formula but with a fair bit of the plots of some of those old Startreck NG 1920s New York "speakeasy" hologram plots thrown in. Not likely to watch many/any more.
 
Maybe I'm just easy to please ...but I got a good few chuckles from the new ep..
Yes I guess the formula is a bit old and possibly tired..but the crew were still just as entertaining.
I really didn't expect it to break new ground...more like putting on your favourite old comfortable shoes...and having them tickle your feet..
it just felt like a continuation of the orginal series that ended at 1o ...but the crew just got a bit older..
but then haven't we all ..
I enjoyed it ...
laughs without leaving my comfort zone.

Some comedies are classic ...and the format shouldn't be messed with imo..
For example ...wouldn't it be just wonderful if they revived BlackAdder one more time ...before Tony Robinson really gets toooo old to play Baldrick ??
They threatened this a good while ago ...but nothing ever came of it ..
personally I'd love to see another series with members of the original cast ..
The beauty of it being age really doesn't factor in ...as it could be set anywhere in History ...and at any period of life..
food for thought ? ...and I dont mean Bake-off...
 
I wish they would show episodes of Fawlty Towers here in the US again, now that show was funny.

PBS had it on for a wile but have not seen it listed for some time.

I'd of Loved more BlackAdder Viper, in my opinion its the best thing Rowan Atkinson has ever been in. His attitude in every series is absolutely brilliant, the one liner put downs of King George, Baldric etc are delivered expertly sarcastic and with such contempt its so funny.

Just watched Episode 2 of Series 11, I quite liked this one, definitely more like what made the originals, won't spoil it though, but there's a lot of skeletons in funny positions... :-rofl2

One thing I'm impressed about is they haven't fiddled with the theme tune, as a lot of reboots and reimaginations of the various things we've been getting in the past 15 years have always "fiddled" with an established theme (E.G. Star Trek 2009, the recomposition of Alexander Courage's theme into the jj trek theme), as they're still using the same series 3 intro and the outro used since The End... :)

It'd be funny if they used DJJ's version of the theme once though... :-rofl2
