The legendary Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore has died at the age of 58.
Gary Moore has died aged 58
One of the greatest players of his generation, Belfast-born Moore was skilled at blues, hard rock and jazz music.
Thin Lizzy manager Adam Parsons said he had died in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He was found dead in a hotel room on the Costa del Sol.
Thin Lizzy founding member Brian Downey paid tribute to his friend.
"I am in total shock," he said. "He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I just cannot believe he is gone."
He added: "I have known Gary since 1967 when he was in Platform Three and he's been an amazing friend ever since.
"It was a pleasure to play with Gary again in 2006 after his days with Lizzy.
"He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and i just can't believe he is gone."

A statement from the official Thin Lizzy Facebook page said: "It is with great sadness we hear of the passing of Gary Moore.
"Our thoughts go out to Gary's family at this time and our memories of Gary and his contribution to Thin Lizzy and music in general will live on forever."
Moore was drafted into Thin Lizzy by its singer Phil Lynott.
One of the most notable moments in his time with the group came with his solo on “Still In Love With You”, from the band’s 1974 Nightlife album.
He also enjoyed a successful solo career and collaborated with luminaries such as BB King, Albert King and Greg Lake.
