Veteran British jazz musician and broadcaster Humphrey Lyttelton has died aged 86.

'Humph' was much loved by jazz fans during his 60 years of fronting his band, as well as building a cult following chairing the long-running 'antidote to panel games' 'I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue' on BBC Radio 4.

Rest in peace, Humph

One of The Old School

A brilliant dry wit. ISIHAC was probably the best programme on the radio.

I remember the story he told about when Samantha was just about to go off on a trip to Naples. She was really looking forward to sampling the ice cream there as she had always wanted to lick the nuts off a couple of Neapolitans.

I nearly fell off my chair at that. My chest hurt with the laughing!

RIP.

There's a tribute edition of ISIHAC on Radio 4 at 12.00PM this morning (27th).
