Rotten Apples

Must not laugh. Must not laugh. Must not laugh...

This particular incident concerns only the Mac version, and on top of that only the Mac version which was downloaded straight from the Transmission website.

Thank God for our official Linux distro software sources, is what I always say

It's dangerous to think you can't be hacked just because you haven't heard about it......

Can't get too complacent. It's not that long ago the Linux Mint distro was compromised.

The distro wasn't hacked, rather the website link to one of the ISO downloads was replaced with a dodgy one, for one day.
This meant anyone downloading it was getting a malware infested re-written ISO.
All else, including all the other links were ok, and the website has been secured now.
Big difference to what happened above, but care is always required, nothing is 100% safe these days.

BTW - I have been using Mint for 4 years now, and will continue to do so. I am confident.

With respect I didn't say hacked, I said compromised. Only for a short time and only if you downloaded at that particular time. But it happened.

Well if U can afford a Mac then You can afford some ransom as well
