You need to "move" to Ireland. RTE is not available on subscriptions from mainland UK addresses.

If you have an Irish friend then they can get a free card if they call up Setanta, telling them they have a box but no card. You'll need to subscribe to Setanta for two months + pay a connection fee though. You'll also need a Sky box to pair the card with.
