In spanish. Equatorial Guinea was an African colony of Spain.

Good portion of what they were airing when it first started was in French and it is an official language there.
 
Equatorial Guinea apparently has three languages; Spanish, French and Portuguese. So you are probably both right about what you heard at differing times.
