i fitted a 36" qarl jack at the weekend....and it appears to have a rubber seal missing. my 24" qarl has a seal at the gearbox end, AND the end where the arm extends and retracts

any ideas what to use to try and waterproof it better? I was thinking some kind of heated rubber shrink wrap but can only find really think stuff...

grease wouldnt work due to the in and out movement of the arm overtime.

I will have to check outside but from memory the 36" has no seal on the telescopic joint.

My 36"er is not the same as yours, i use a USA 'Venture' made actuator, and that uses a telescopic rubber boot.
I use grease on my moving shaft, ooerr, as well, and re-apply every so often.
I'll have a look around and see what might be available in telescopic boots etc.

Just googled 'Motorcycle rubber boots' and it came up with a shed load of ones to look at that might be usable if a dedicated actuator type can't be found.

Yes, as I thought. Also there is a picture on Amazon of the QARL, no outside seal.

thanks @Channel Hopper

sometimes web pics leave out included accessories from the pictures - but your pic confirms it.

im glad its not lost \ missing.

i was thinking bicycle innertube with some grease slid \ stretched over....but now im not so fussed.

what grease do you guys use on your actuators to try and keep things well lubed and water out?

Pricey or not pricey... decide one himself...
