hope someone can help.
two days ago i noticed that my Sammy dsr 9500a as been left switched on for about two weeks by mistake ,and it was really hot at the touch of my hand.
i tried to switch between the channels but i did get nothing, and i noticed that my motor dish was not moving at all, even using the manual sat search.
i did keep it off and unplugged from the wall socket for this past two days, but when i switched it on today still having the same problem.
i can i find out if is the receiver or the motor dish?
any help welcome.
BTW: it seems that the receiver does get hot as well wile in standby:confused

My Satellite Setup
Nothing at the moment until I find a receiver.
My Location
yookay
Unplug the power then Disconnect the F-Connector. Now Pulg on the receiver without Dish or motor and see if you can see every thing else is working but with a message "no signal". If it is right your receiver is OK but problem with the motor. Otherwise your receiver has to be fixed.

Hope this info is helpful>

Try connecting the coax directly into the lnb, bypassing the disec motor. That way you should get a signal all being well;)

Can you move the motor manually with east and west buttons? Try without the stb connected.

using the east and west manual option on the receiver does not make the motor move at all,and as the dish stopped in a position that is not the right one i gues, i cannot get any channels)(-red

i get to understand that if i connect a 12v battery to the cable that goes to the motor, the motor should move and proving that the motor is ok. am i right?????
what about testing the the connector at the back of receiver, how to do it with a voltmeter?
thank you
btw the motor is a Technomate DiSEqC HH120 Motor
