Anyone seen any mods to turn the Saorsat LNB to linear now there are feeds on 7E?

Cheers

Looking at the frequencies on Lyngsat, maybe the easiest, erm, "mod", would be to swap the Ka LNB for a Ku LNB perhaps...

Well no, there are KA feeds on 7E, but I've been told on boards.ie they're not in the range the Soarsat LNB does.

There's a bit of info on here with people using different types of lnb. Norsat spring to mind.
Would be good if someone did mod a Saorsat lnb.

Have to wonder if there are any DVB TV feeds in the 19.7-20.2GHz range the Soarsat LNB takes.

K band (K band: 18-26, Ka band: 26-40 GHz) covers 4 different bands and each of `em covers 1000Mhz. You can not get different band with the Inverto ka band lnb...nor even linera polarization of the same band! The only weay is to use a necessary lnb, feed and omt to get both polarities.
In general it is called Ka banad even it is not the band downlink operates in....

A) 18.2-19.2 GHz
B)19.2-20.2 GHz
C) 20.2-21.2 GHz
D) 21.2-22.2 GHz

There are DRO LNBs available for the first three bands, unfortunately manufacturers offer for the 4th band PLL LNBs only. There`s a reason to do so I guess.... What`s can bother us is the price of PLLs as a PLL lnb by Norsat costs ca. $1500-1700.

Well, I wanted to attach more pictures but it gives me only this terrible size option and I`m not going to resize a picture to 2x2 cm!
:-downt You can upload up to 56.87K of files (Max. single file size: 56.87K) :-downt

That's some collection of LNB's there. Thanks

It looks that it allows to uploade proper size now (Max. single file size: 10MB) so here we go again!
Different stuff for Ka band reception.
Single polarity OMT and original Ka band feedhorn F/D 0.5-0.7, both made by Prodelin.
