Hello All,

This is my first post here. I joined thinking this is the definitive source of accurate info on all things satellite!

Can anyone advise me please as to where I can find a satellite HDTV PCI card or even USB2/firewire receiver. Anything I find online turns out to be listed as "tuner" which I take to mean terrestial rather than sat and all sat cards are SD only. I want it for the Euro HD broadcasts on Astra and Hotbird etc. Any suggestions will be gratefully received!

All satellite pci cards are tuner only unless they have onboard hardware decoder. Examples are Skystar 1 and Nexus. I have not seen a HDTV hardware decoder card for europe yet bet the yanks have them $250!

Most popular uk card is Skystar 2, £40 which is software decoder. You need Pentium 4, 2.8g for HDTV or fast Athlon. Graphics card should be 64mb+.

Technotrend is going to release in the near future a premium version of that card. You do not need a top of the line computer to run it.
