HI Guys

I dont think a £6 Ebay job is going to cut it.

So digital sat meters is the way forward

What's good for a 8 lnb T90 setup which will give me more info than a moving needle. Maybe even a sat name or something like that.

There is a 129 on sale here - is that any good and what is the 2nd and 3rd choice to that

any help please

Cheers Vik
ps budget maybe up to 150 - dont care if its 2nd hand either

Its a tough one because of the budget

the 129 satplus - will that do the job

there is a whole load of them at 169 - what are the main difference with them and the 129 job

I cant get my head around them

Basically trying to get one (even if its along term investment) to pick up more than the basical beep or digital beep (the 80-90 buck jobs)

Not keen on any of those ;)

I would recommend a Satlook lite which has NIT readout.

Code:

Google them for a price.

If you really look for sat-meter for T90 than you should search for one that has 2 inputs, so you connect most left LNB and most right LNB and look simultaneously how signals on both LNBs changing. For example Satlook Mikro G2, but unfortunately that is not budget model.

No need, the Satlook Lite can control switches so you could do that with a DiSEqC switch inline... not that I did with mine, I just plugged into each LNB in turn and that dish is aligned fine. For skew my digital level got the dish spot on to start with. Just put the meter on the central LNB and spring the dish up & down. Once that is done do the same on the east most and west most LNBs. All three will act the same if the dish skew is correct (signal drops as you pull or push the dish).

BTW, I agree on the Satlook Lite. It beats the others because it has NIT (and spectrum).

If it controls diseqc, than at one time it shows only signal from 1 LNB, but having simultaneous picture with signals from LNB A and B anyway is better.

That's not a feature I have ever seen on a pro-level meter.

Thanks guys
I shall research the model and see what comes up. Is there a 2nd hand market for them or where is the cheapest supplier Germany? Or close to home in the UK.

The Satplus on here and the others £169 are the same thing, I have the Satplus and like it very much. Very sensitive.Does not give sat ID or DB readings, but for hobby use they are fine and will do the job.
