Sat TV Problems

Helo All,
I am a new member and know very little about the technical side of things with regard to Sat TV. I may even be in the wrong place on this forum. Be gentle. I have a system that I use in my caravan travelling in Australia. Some time ago I was having some problems finding the Optus C1 satellite and once I had thought I had exhausted all of my options (checking connections, direction and elevation etc etc) I made what has turned out to be a fatal error. I pressed the button that said return to default settings. Well that wiped the C1 settings from my decoder. Now I can't figure out how to get them back. I live in Perth. Is there anyone out there that I might take this to to get some help replacing the C1 settings. It seems difficult to follow the instructions for my unit which is an Opentel brand decoder, model ODS4000IR. The specs for the C1 on the Optus site don't seem to be helpful as they seem to have different terminology. Help!

Well it is a big ask for us Europeans really as we cannot see the sats you can as they are below our horizon.

Thinking about the problem logically for a moment your mobile unit can only work similar to a motorised system. Hence you need to set the stb to one of the working channels e.g.

12438 H 27800-3/4
tp 14

One channel of which is the Foxtel digital help channel FTA

You would then need to perform a scan to find and store channels it finds.

Your problem may be that if the unit or your van has moved since you lost everything you will need to set up the arc that you unit can see from scratch. Obviously I cannot know how to do that as it is unit specific however a read of the sticky guides below may give you some pointers on what you need to do

The object of the exercise is to make the tracking of the unit you have match the arc of the Clarke curve above your head in Australia beginning with your true North satellite which for Perth WA would appear to be 116 Koreasat. Therefore the top of your arc should be that satellite. I am sure the instructions will show you how to set all this up is there anyway you can upload them after scanning on to the web site?
