What would people recommend for under £100 in the uk any advise would be greatful

The Skystar Express HD2 will easily fit the bill pricewise. Around £50 - if you have a PCI-E slot in your PC.
Its specification comes close to the excellent TBS6925 card (or its latest equivalent), which would set you back maybe three times the price.

There's also a USB version of a similar card, which I am thinking of getting.

A lot of SkyStar tuners are on ebay.de

¿Do you have to ability to blindscan with the 5980 and do you find the tuner to be sensitive with low SR values?

Hi LP, yes you can use crazycats blind scan just same as the more expensive cards, the tuner is not very sensitive though to be honest but the skycard is the same comparing them to the X2 and skybox f3s

I bought the skystar usb 2 in the end what is the best software to use with it just having a play around with it now

Depends what you want to achieve?

I use the paid software "dvbviewer" this will allow you to tune and watch.
It also has an extra bit of software called TransEdit which you can use to do more technical stuff, tune individual transponders etc.

Has anyone compared sensitivity compared to the 6925, I am very interested in this card as an affordable backup.

Don't know about the 6925 but the Xpress is very close to sensitivity of the F15 receiver.
