- My Satellite Setup
- 1m motorized dish
DM500 FortecStar FSIR5400 DM500HD DM800.
- My Location
- Tripoli, Libay, the former rogue state capital
After days of misunderstanding that my dishes were huge useless trash, suddenly I realize they are possibly a decent multifeed system built by professionals.
I'm not too sure though. They may be just large offset dishes or dishes of some kind.
I learned from
-http://www.tv-sputnik.com/eng/multifeed.html
that there are 3 ways to set up a multifeed system, and one of them is by installation of several dishes that are connected to one receiver.
I came to understand that the 3 different dishes might make up one of these multifeed dish systems.
There are 3 fixed dishes on our rooftop; each measures about 2.5m in diameter and comes with 1 LNB. Two of them have their LNB in front of the center of the reflector and the other one has a asymmetrical feed.
I suspect these individual dishes combine signals they pick up from respetive satellites and transmit to my receiver.
That explains I was able to receive from Hotbird, Nilesat, EutelSat, Thor and Hispasat thousands of channels APIECE with it.
However, probably because I don't know how to set up my new Dreambox's "satellite config", I get practically only one satellite, a pitiful 1253 TV services from Hotbirt 13E and several hundreds from others. I want more!
And if they are a multifeed system, is it much less capable than a motorised dish system. If so, I'm gonna drill some serious holes on my landlord's house myself without his permission.
Experts! How do I set up my Dreambox's satellite config? Advise me with your insight.
PS: I might be a nonsense talking newbie.
