satellite finder

hi i put my dish to 28.2 but when i take the satellite finder of and just put the lead from the receiver in it say no signal

are you sure you are pointing at the right satellite? maybe you locked on a different one than what you wanted?

also maybe wait a minute or 2 after you connect your reciever to the dish. sometimes the reciever takes a few seconds to recognize the signal.

strange. but with the SAT-finder connected you can view the channles? i've heard the SAT-finder can add a gain of about 15dB to the signal, so maybe if you are just barely recieving the SAT this extra 15dB can makes the difference of viewing and not viewing. how strong is the signal with the SAT-finder connected?
