Satellite - Optus D2 (Australia)

My Satellite Setup
Satellite dish to receive EWTN (Satellite Optus D2) and STRONG SRT 4610 Receiver.
My Location
East Coast NSW Australia
It took nearly an hour to "at least" find a topic where I could post my question. If it's in the wrong place, forgive me, I'm an Aussie!
I receive a Catholic Channel called EWTN (USA) through Satellite Optus D2. Yesterday, there was no volume, so I "fiddled" with the inner sanctum of the STRONG SRT 4610 Receiver via the remote control.
Now I have nothing. I apparently "reset it" to the default settings (a no-no I believe). The channels via Optus D2 are through Christian Network - (www.christiansatellite.com.au) (in Australia). That site has instructions to re-scan the satellite for the STRONG SRT 4620 - not the 4610 I have. In addition, these instructions for the 4620 state they do not work if you have re-set the Receiver to it's default channels (which I did).
Using the remote control, I can find the list of Satellites it can reach, but Optus D2 is not one of them. You have to (somehow) "tune in" the 4610 to receive Optus D2.
Does that make sense? Would I be better buying a new Receiver? If so, what? Hopefully one of you gurus reading this sob story can come up with a "money-saving" set of instructions for me to follow and succeed.

Well assuming you have fixed dish all you have to do is a scan and save the channels found to recover the situation. Not knowing your stb I would guess you need to do either a blind scan, transponder scan or channel scan.

If you have a motorised dish then it is more complicated to provide a solution

Sorry, I thought I said it was going OK but I lost the sound. The dish has been up for a year or so, and yes, I need to do a scan but firstly I am told I have to tune in my Receiver to be able to obtain Optus D2 (which is not visible at present). Because I did a default re-set, all channels have been lost.

But if your dish is fixed you just need to do a scan and that will correct any alterations that have been made to the PIDs which are stopping you recieving the sound, parameters are often changed and you need to scan to correct them

How can I scan a Satellite which does not appear on my screen?

I don't think you understand my position Topper, although I appreciate the time you are giving me. I cannot SEE THE SATELLITE NAME (plenty of other Satellites though) on the screen. I am told with a Strong SRT 4610, you have to tune it in to receive OPTUS D2. I can't do this as I don't know how.

THAT is my problem, then of course I'll be able to scan OPTUS D2 and get some channels.

Tony, change an existing satellite name in the database that you don't use to Optus D2. The manual (if you have one) will explain how you do this. Then you can rescan for channels on that satellite.

It's very easy to do it with two ways , first to add a new sat name at data sats list of your receiver and second to rename a sat name of existing sat name into your receiver but you have to insert all data sat manually in both ways -in case of rename you have to change data- thats why you have to find them at h--p://www.lyngsat.com/optusd2.html to find out what you like to see and insert all the data that wish at your receiver.
If you don't know how to insert data you must find the receiver's manual ,I'm sorry but i can help more because I don't know the STRONG SRT 4610 Receiver maybe same one ,who all ready have the same receiver can help more

I do have the instruction manual, so will read in more depth.

I erred with the satellite name - it should be OPTUS B3.

I intend to "google" around more today as I have more time.
