My Satellite Setup
i have a pre installed dish so i can watch free to air channels.
My Location
united kingdom
I went to my friends house, they used to have a satellite dish that was facing hotbird so they can watch fta channels via there reciver, but now a satellite man came and took of the dish and connected there reciever to there internet broadband modem through virgin internet. And now they watch all channels without via access cards or nothing like al jazeera sport which got stopped recently but now they have. And its all done via internet.? How does this work ??

If any one has come across this could you please let me know how this works.

First thing I can say is that if it doesn't use a dish to receive channels, then it isn't a satellite receiver.

There are hundreds of channels streamed on the internet, including some pay channels, he could even be using a slingbox or similar.

Ya it's right, they are net channels. The second thing to consider is you network speed. For the speed under 1mbps I think that it does not worth going for that kind of receivers, you’ll have a little latency.

2) Watch through the monitor instead of WS TVs does not have any pleasure.
