I wonder how this will have any significant impact to end users? Time will tell I guess.

It's just a technology sharing agreement.

What it won't do is mean (for example) that Freesat will somehow gain a wider geographical audience.
 
Little or no impact in the near future - it is merely an agreement between the 3 operators to commonise hardware across their 3 platforms allowing manufacturers to supply all 3 markets with one type of receiver instead of the current separate ones for each service. It is NOT going to inrease the areas in which each service can be at present received.

The only benefits to viewers will be an increased choice of receivers and the ability to move from one country to another and change service provider without changing equipment.
 
It seems to be like the NorDig organization.
