The Satlook Lite would be a good starter meter. There's several threads covering the Lite in this section; possibly worth reading over. It has NIT readout also and all the necessary measurements.

What is your budget?

erm, i suppose id be stretching it a bit at paying £180 for a satlook lite so anything less than that really?

would i be better off looking for a 2nd hand satlook micro + or a new lite?

The Micro+ is a great meter and it can be upgraded to G2 (with spectrum analyzer and all) by purchasing software from Emitor. You cannot upgrade it to the Micro HD.

An upgrade to G2 is about Euro 120 and new G2 is about Euro 400. The Micro+ is only sold new in G2 version. Sorry dont know what they go for second hand but you can calculate a good offer from these prices.

Hello,

I am sorry for my inferior English!

I bought my Satlook Micro + in 2006 (new).
2 years ( in 2009 ) ago, I put the update proposed on the site Emitor. only my satlook microphone + has no "spectrum" and " Easyfind feature ".
Apparently, there is no new update on Emitor. I have the version 375.
Has you he a means there to activate the spectrum and especially the EsayFind Feature?

Other question: can we make Downgrade? I ask this question because I have to find a file ******* which would seem to be exactly able to activate the spectrum on the satlook.
As I do not have to find of information to know this file really worked, I ask questions.
I wait for your answers
Thank you

Further to above, my keyboard is playing silly bu**ers at the moment, so I've lost your link completely.

Hello everyone,

I answered my questions by testing!
First, I note that following the upgrade of 2009 + of my micro satellok bought in 2006, I had a few problems!
- Instability of the display (some frizer)
- In digital mode, I often searching in an error: OUT OF BAND.
I used my Satlook Micro +, for installations of Internet skyDSL (not often, it depends on the last periods. But now with the channel up and down, I think I have more and more often) .
In short, my Satlook Micro + since the update e conducted in 2009 (he passed the microphone to + G2) was delirious!
It was important to find a solution very fast, because I have an installation today.

I went to the site EMITOR.SE. And I found this update: Satlook Micro G2HD firmware smG2HD-124-EU & transponder editor 27-3-2011

I put the updated and tested!
The problem is that the Satfinder asked me a key, the spectrum too. Not very satisfied with this new version, I tried to return to the old firmware: sm_375_EU
It worked, I could downgrade. Except that my Satlook Micro + was still unstable!
Firmeware not the first, the one installed when I bought my nine satelook micro +, impossible to return to a stable release! I said that my upgrade in 2009, I had made on the site EMITOR because they said it gave additional functions.

At this point I was somewhat at a standstill! I found sites where they sell key activation to 49 euros, but I was not about to receive it in 12!

In short, before I upgrade to the new version proposed on the site EITOR.SE, I found a file named sm10.hex, which precisely specify the Delock Satfinder and spectrum. Frankly I really hesitate to put it. I had the idea to compare it with the player and sm_375_EU.hex hexadecimal. It seemed almost identical.

So I tested! And it works. I now have Satfinder the spectrum.

There, I have no time, but I would return with pictures of what happens.

Finally, I said all along after my first upgrade in 2009, my lights do not work! And they still do not work. I'm not sure that it comes from the upgrade.
