hi all, i wonder if anyony can help, i have a sct monterey 40 with digital upgrade, dug it out the loft after a few years. Im want ot use it to get freesat, i can get some transponders mainly itv and a few jesus channels but i cant get most of the rest, it show full signal qpsk lock ok and fec ok but will not show any channels, has anyone had this problem before, the only thing i can think of is the mechanical polariser isnt setup properly so might be getting some of the next channels signal but its showing good signal so i wouldnt have thought it was that? ;)thanks joe

what lnb are you using? maybe get rid of the poloriser and fit a universal lnb?

No, don't do that. If the Monterry was set up for a mechanical polariser then that's what it needs.

It's more likely that the Digibox needs updating although it's so out of date I'm not sure that it will take a leapfrog over so many generations.

Anyway, to force an update on the digibox unplug it from the mains and then, while keeping your finger on the backup button on the Digibox, reconnect the mains. Keep your finger on the button until all the lights on the Digibox come on. Then leave it alone until the lights go out.

I'm assuming that you can reach the buttons on the Digibox portion that is. As I recall it was strapped underneath the main receiver and wired up in a fearsome way at the back.

Good luck.

It is most likely too much signal, fit an attenuator in line with the LNB, say 12 to 15dB and try again.

The Monterey digital add-on uses the 'motherboard' out of my RSD ODM300, and I believe the same menu structure for that section.

If the menu is indeed the same, I could perhaps help in configuring the LNB etc.

Hello!
yes this digital addone,has been designed,in uk,in the 90`s
i never have any, whre i can get one for monterey 40/140,and how much this interface coasts?
is it with that posible,to make autotracking,of satelite signal, with a digital signal or still anlouge? tracking posible?

Unlikely to find one Turok, this Scottish-based company stopped making STB's many years ago. If you ever find an ODM300 for the board, maybe the OP or somebody else could help regarding interfacing it to a Monterey.

hi all, thanks for the suggestions will try them tomorrow, would hate to get rid of the unit and just get a freesat box as i like it alot, yes did see that it was based on a osd300 but with modified software and hardware. The menus are a littler basic so was wondering if there was a secret menu to it. Will let you know how i get on, im also after a gregorian dish that they sold to go with it if anyones selling one? thanks joe

Hello!
can you make picture of the menus, and this dvb card!
what monterey modells are all compatible?

Here's a couple of menus of the ODM300, would be interesting to compare with the Monterey's.

...and the ODM300 circuit board. Not sure how it fits in to the Monterey, especially with its own power supply (?)

you would be better off starting off fresh with a freesat box,the monterey is now an obsolete monstrosity, even if it has 12/18v switching.

put it back in the loft after admiring the construction, then the biggest slump in electronics cost to the purchaser.
