Seems such an easy question.

Hey all,

I have a satellite dish and a Germany receiver. The LNB is adjusted to 19.2 (Astra Germany). Hoever I'd like to receive UK TV as well, chaning the current LNB to 2 LNBs, with switch. My question is: can I watch English TV via Astra UK (28.2) if I do NOT have a Freesat box?

Seems an easy question but nobody has been able to help me yet.

Maybe you can? It'd be very much appreciated. That also goes for all other kind of advice on how to install two LNBs onto one dish.

Thank you!

Hope that I am not misleading you, as I can't receive 28.2E.
But I don't see why not. The channels are FTA aren't they?
If I remember correctly, there will not be any EPG unfortunately.

Hello and thanks for your reply. What does FTA and EPG mean?

I know my receiver is a digital receiver, if that helps.

FTA = Free To Air (not encrypted channels)
EPG = Electronic Programming Guide

You might get the current and next event, but not the daily or weekly schedule.
It helps to record the events when you know when they will be on.

There are plenty of good free to air channels available on Astra2. Any FTA receiver should be capable of tuning them in.

You'll need to use either an offset LNB or another Dish/LNB if you want to recieve Astra 1 + Astra 2/ Eurobird 1.

Hello and thank you for your replies!

My receiver must be FTA compatible because I receive FTA channels via Astra Germany on 19.2

So I think I will buy another LNB, a switch (can't remember the name now but I found one someone recommended) and then I will keep my fingers crossed.

Do you think it is worth buying a satellite finder or is a compass enough?
