My Satellite Setup
I am trying to get a Satellite Setup sorted / Various PC equipment

Kent & West Balaton
Hi everyone,
I am in need of some help with regards to UK TV reception in West Balaton (Near Heviz). I managed to get a house built without getting ripped off. But it seems the local Satellite company wanted to try their luck by promising me reception of All UK channels (BBC1 BBC2 etc) with 1.1m dish and their box at a cost of £300. These guys were amazing, even after I asked them 10-15 times they guaranteed that I would get these channels.
Having done alot of checking with Brits in Balaton and online forums I (wasn't convinced from the start) advised them that I had changed my mind and I would not be buying it just yet!

I understand it is possible to receive 5-10 free to air channels including ITV1, CH4, CH5, news channels and some film channels with a 1m dish, SKY digibox and a Free to Air SKY card (one off payment £20 from sky), without getting a subscription from SKY?
Has anyone got this setup and does it work.
I really would appreciate some advice as I am going back to Balaton next week and I want to setup something to keep up with the news etc.

According to the map at this link -http://www.astra2d.com/maps.html you should need a 180 cm dish to receive Astra 2D. For the other birds dish sizes see the links at -http://www.flysat.com/28east.php.

Make sure you choose a good LNB and sensitive SKY receiver.

The link to order the freesat card is -https://mysky.sky.com/replacecard/get-a-card (click on the "Don't have a viewing card?" link. If you are only interested in the main PSB channels then you won't need a viewing card if you have Astra 2D reception though.
 
I think its nearer 2.4 - 3m for all the 2D channels in western Hungary
 
There are some reports here :- -http://www.astra2d.com/hungary.html . They are very old but he basics should still hold true where they refer to 2D I guess.
